![]() The Complex is home to the first version exclusive Pokemon of the game. Double back now, and head over to the grass for some more capture opportunities. Follow the path along the wall and you'll run into a Silk Scarf, which is an item that slightly boosts the power of Normal type moves when it is equipped to a Pokemon. After him, head up along the road next to the water and go under the bridge to reach another set of stairs. Then go down the stairs to talk to the Roughneck staring at the wall he will give you a Great Ball in exchange for a Pokeball. There is an X-Accuracy lying in the grass near the entrance, so be sure to pick that up. The Complex has a couple of items to grab before you start catching Pokemon. Once you're done collecting items, head to the southern end of the city to take your mom's advice and visit the Virbank Industrial Complex Make sure to check the trash can next to it for an Antidote. The building on the far left of the same street as the gym is a nursery where an aide will give you a Burn Heal, which will heal any Pokemon of the burn condition (but you could figure that out anyway). The man right outside the Gym will give you a Pokeball though. Continue on and you'll see the docks on the right and the Virbank Gym on the left, but we're not heading there yet. Follow the path along the water, and at the end you'll be able to find a hidden Pearl, which can be sold for some money. Going down, if you hug the wall on the left, you can slip through a gap. In the house to the right of the PokeCenter is a PokeToy, which allows you to escape from a wild Pokemon. You'll be able to see an item ball in an alley behind the PokeCenter, but we can't get there yet. Once you've healed up and restocked items at the PokeCenter, it's time to explore the city. Roxie's dad walks off through the northern gate, and Roxie storms off to the south. Continue into the city, and you'll see the town's Gym Leader, Roxie, arguing with her father. Then exit to reach Virbank City.Īs soon as you enter this dirty port city, you'll receive a call from your mother, who will tell you to visit a place called the Virbank Industrial Complex. Once you're done on Route 20, you can head through the gate where the attendant will give you some more Great Balls. The final trainers on the route are a pair of Twins who will challenge you to your first trainer double battle of the game they have two Sunkern between them. On the lower ledge is a Nursery Aide with a Dunsparce, and to her right is a Dire Hit, which is a special kind of X-item that raises critical hit ratio. The dark grass also features a new Pokemon, Venipede, which is a Bug/Poison type with surprisingly high speed, Battle the Preschooler in front of the stairs, who has a Lillipup, then head up the stairs to grab the Antidote, another item that heals poisoning. Great Balls are upgraded PokeBalls that have a higher likelihood of capturing a Pokemon. Rival will go into the dark grass to look for Pokemon, you should follow him as well to grab the Great Ball there. Cheren gives both of you some Pecha Berries, which can heal a Pokemon of poisoning, before leaving. Cheren will explain to the two of you about the dark grass ahead - in it, there is the possibility of encountering two wild Pokemon at the same time in a double battle. A bit beyond them, and Cheren and Rival will walk up to you. Going down the stairs and you'll face a Preschooler with a Psyduck. ![]() Now that you have the Basic Badge, the Hiker who was blocking your way to the eastern part will be willing to let you pass - but only after you fight him and his single Riolu. When you are about to leave Floccesy Town, Bianca will catch up to you and upgrade your Pokedex with a feature that allows you to see what Pokemon can be found on each route. There's nothing left to do here, so head back out to Route 20. Finally, Bianca gives you the C-Gear, a tool used to access WiFi and infrared connectivity with other players. After the call ends, Rival shows up to challenge Cheren's gym. This call also registers Juniper in your Xtransceiver calling her will let her rate your Pokedex completion. Juniper chats a bit with Bianca about work, and asks Cheren about his Gym Leader duties. You then enter a four way call with Bianca, Cheren, and a lady who introduces herself as Professor Juniper. The Xtransceiver is basically a video phone that you can use to call various people throughout the game to get information and hints. Cheren will join the two of you outside, and both he and Bianca will register their contact info in your Xtransceiver. She'll give you TM27 - Return, which is the opposite of Frustration - it grows more powerful the more the user likes the trainer. As you exit the gym, you'll find that Bianca has been outside waiting for you.
